Monika Laskowska was born in Bydgoszcz, Poland. She earned her MFA from the Ohio State University and BFA in Ceramics from the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology in Galway, Ireland. Laskowska studied at The National Art Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria as part of the Erasmus Exchange program and holds a BA in English from the Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznan, Poland. She recently finished a year long residency at the Lawrence Arts Center in Lawrence, Kansas and currently lives and works in London.
